Cliff Cushing

December 28, 1948 – July 22, 2017

Clifford "Cliff" Cushing left us quietly Saturday morning, July 22, 2017. He was 68 years old, lived in Tonawanda, NY and withstood many health issues. He is survived by brother Brian G. Cushing, sisters Beverly A. Lannon and Nancy M. Zack, step-daughters Ginevra and Catherine Courtade, many nieces and nephews, and a wide circle of friends. Cliff graduated from St. Joe's Collegiate Institute in 1967 and was an active alumnus.

From Classmates:

One of a kind ... unique friend and classmate ... down to earth guy.   Cliff and I go back to 1955 at All Saints in Riverside and have stayed in touch with each other and been great friends ever since.

The world was a better place with Cliff in it, I'll miss him dearly.   I’m glad I had the opportunity to visit with Cliff at our 50th.

Cliff was just a real good guy. Never heard a bad word about anybody from him. A real kind soul.    He was a friend, fun to be with and a good drinking buddy at all the St. Joe's functions.

He was a unique person and friend.    As Cliff always has always done so well, he brings things into perspective ... thanks, and may you rest in peace my friend!

We spent a lot of good times together over the years. He was always a fun person.    I feel fortunate that I was able to share breakfast with him Friday morning of the 50th weekend. He seemed happy .  He was a great guy.

I always enjoyed talking & joking around with him in school, at our luncheons & annual BD party. He's been through some tough times in the last few years & always came through beautifully - a true marauder!

It is always difficult to feel the loss of another of our classmates. Our prayers and sentiments go out to Cliff's family.
Oh, I'm going to miss that guy.    Cliff was  a "colorful" character and a lot of fun to be around.

He was one the good guys, and the funniest guy I knew.    My prayers and thoughts are with Clifford and his family he was a great guy.

Cliff was one of us, great guy that cared.    You never know when  your next encounter with a friend may be the last time you see him. We have to make these times count.

I chatted briefly with Cliff at the 50th and was impressed by how well he seemed to be doing. Miss you Cliff. You were a great guy.

With the passing of Cliff a piece of all of us went with him.

I have tears in my eyes as I write this, what a great guy with a great sense of humor!

A sad day indeed when one of the nice guys is no longer with us.

At the 2016 birthday bash I sat next to Cliff.  We discussed the physical challenges associated with aging, rehabbing, and disability.  Cliff mentioned that he exercised daily in his basement.  I responded that I had problems with stairs and needed sturdy handrails to ascend/descend.
You probably guessed it---he volunteered to come over and set me up with sturdy handrails. RIP ... the world is a better place because of you.
