George and I got to be pretty good friends during our years on the Cross Country and Track teams at St. Joe's. He loved running long distances and was very good at it. He was also a fun guy to be around and always had a smile on his face.
I got to know George more in our senior year and we doubled for Prom. It was good to see him at our 40th. Gone too soon.
Very sad news. Another good man lost too soon. R.I.P. George!
RIP buddy…. seems I’m still following you.
May he be in God's arms. Knew George and his sibs when we were in grade school together at St. Mark's. Great runner and good person. We were lucky to have him as a member of the class of '67.
The thought that occurred to me in reading so many references to George’s renown as a runner, is that we as a group seem to be picking up the pace, making our gatherings even more special. Best wishes to us all.
Rest in Peace, George.
I always loved reading George’s liberal leaning observations in Letters to the Editor in the Buffalo News. They were always sensitive, thoughtful and well written. And on the smart side of the aisle.
I am very sorry to hear about the passing of George. He was a great guy. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. Rest in peace George!
I had the opportunity to attend George's Celebration of Life this afternoon. It was very uplifting.
We all have our memories of George, as we've shared here, and now having heard all the testimonials at the celebration it is clear what a profound impact George had on his family, friends and the mental health community he served with such compassion for so many years.
To me George was a good, fun guy that I rode the Parkside 9 bus to SJCI with in the morning. He was a friend to me and all of us but it is now clear to me he affected so many lives in the most positive way beyond the class of '67.
Rest in Peace dear friend.
RIP George!!
